This was my first year of Archery elk hunting and the DVD's that you sent me, taught me sooooooooo much about elk and what they mean when they are bugling or cow calling ........ That would be just fine if you posted my photos, I truly believe that if it weren't for the instruction that I received from the DVD's, I would not have been successful. --Rick Hansen
David Hutton here... just got back from my CO DIY public land hunt. Your Chuckler grunt tube worked great, as well as the Rocky's Raging Bull and Mellow Yellow diaphram calls I ordered from you. Your instructional DVD series was invaluable in learning to speak "elk". This is my first archery bull and I shot him at 25 yards quartering to me at 8:04 am in the middle of a pass at 9,800 feet on his way over from the south side to the north side to bed down for the day. He was pushing a hot cow and had a little 4X4 satelite hot on her tail before this guy popped up screaming with an alder branch stuck in his brow tines! Exciting stuff!!! Thanks again for all of your advice, help and your great products...---David Hutton
Here's the pics. It was a great hunt and I couldn't have called in any of the bulls without your help.Plus it was great to do it on our own. First time calling and in new territory in the middle of nowhere. Plus the bulls were not bugling at all. They were completely quite. Until we found them and called! Paul, I can tell you that your dvd was awesome! Now I need to get a bull! Hopefully I'll get a chance to go next year somewhere, just have to do some more research.---Rocco
Just wanted to send you a quick email to thank you. I finally got my first elk after 5 years of trying. A small 6x6. My hunting partner and I discussed (on the long pack out) that without watching your dvd's we would not have gotten a shot. Just knowing what to do in the crunch made all the difference. --Brent Workman
After 7 years of elk hunting, I'm still learning new tactics and mostly from those (ElkNut) Cd's, which I just listened to again Saturday. I wish we'd have had those from the beginning, I know I would've killed more elk. Thank him for sharing this knowledge with me. --Greg
Here is my favorite. It has the tools of the trade that I used to kill this bull. The playbook of course. I also had my mini-chuckler and the mello yellow which I used for the pleading cow sounds and spike squeals which brought him in. I also used the Cow Talk call, but I didn't think it would show up.--- Z Barebow
All of my homework paid off this year. My 1st ever elk hunt and took home a cow. The picture is right beside where I recovered her. Thanks elknut!!! -- grasshopper
This year I was reading an article about elk hunting in "Bowhunting America". Your DVD set was recommended as a way to learn the language and increase your chances of success dramatically. I thought what the heck, Why not try it. This series is is unbelievable! I went through it 5 times, took notes and practiced hard(I had to wait until my wife was out of the house). This year I had only 4 days to hunt in colorado. My wife was with me and got a video clip on her little camera. I used the "threat level 1" to bring em in hot. It's not a monster but its my first and I have something to build on. This was the most exciting hunting experience I've ever had. Thanks so much for sharing your info, I really feel confident in the elk woods now. --Rick Helps

Still Need Proof?
I finished the Playbook this afternoon. It is the best resource I have ever read for hunting elk. I have read a lot of books and numerous magazine articles. I think I could put together 100 pounds of magazines and books in my hunting room, but all together they do not contain the information the Playbook does, to help the elk hunter.
I am not into hero worship, but Paul is the "man"! Even thought he has sells his knowledge via DVD's and now his Playbook, he continues to supply detailed info via the net. (Possibly at the detriment of sales $$$). His insight into what elk say and why they say it, is 2nd to none and cannot be found anywhere else.
Hi Paul,
Was just killing some time on Bowsite, and read a bunch of your stuff on wallowing. Great stuff.
I am an AVID elk hunter in MT. And about 2 yrs ago,, I bought your set of CDs. OMG. it has completely COMPLETELY changed my elk hunting. THANKS for all the research and everything in those CDs.. I will prob be buying a new set soon, as I think mine are wearing out.
Last fall, Sept 21, we were hunting an OTC area in SW MT. I was calling, as I had already killed a bull. We had been hunting this area for several days and knew a few of the bulls by name. We came into the meadow and heard the Monster bugling. I sent both of my buddies out in front,, and backed off and started with the threat. From there on, it was like a fairy tail in the Elk woods. We took 2 6 points within 5 mins and 30 yds apart,, and passed on 7 or 8 other bulls that offered us 30 yd shots, as we were waiting for the time to expire on the 2 dead ones!! THEY WENT CRAZY over the threat!!
I just started reading the Playbook last night. Recipient #135. It may not make the "NY Times Best Seller List", but I'll bet you it is #1 for McCall, Idaho publications! Swede nailed it right on the head. To put it plain and simple, (Paul don't sell no junk)! Every thing he sells, weather it is hunting products or informational DVDs, CDs, Books, or what ever is A-1 stuff for the elk hunter. I have alway told others, "When you buy Pauls stuff, you stop educating the elk and start educating yourself"! Keep up the good work Paul!
Just finished my first reading of ElkNut's Playbook yesterday. Over the years I have read many books and magazine articles on elk hunting. I have also viewed too many videos and DVDs to keep track of. Elk hunting is a passion for me and I am a debtor to many for what I have learned. They have helped me take many elk with my bow. I do not think I exagerate to say, I have 100 pounds of books, magazines etc. in my basement hunting room. Simply put, the PlayBook has more useful information than all of the above combined. ElkNut's little book is a lot lighter to carry and easier to reference, too. Personally I believe anyone who wants to start elk hunting or to turn up their hunting to a higher level, should get ElkNut's PlayBook and his DVDS. Combined, I believe, they contain all you need to be a very sucessful elk hunter. If I was an elk, I would go to the Humane Society to see if they could get all of ElkNut's stuff banned.
I have been going back and forth from the sounds after Chapter 3 and then back to the chapters where you mention how and when the sounds are most effective.Since I'm one of the lone hunters you speak of, "Wow" do some of these chapters really hit home. I even notice and now realize why elk have responded in certain manners when watching elk videos from Primos, Wayne Carlton, etc...I started using you products late in the 2008 season and found them to be right on track. Last year was awesome, I spent the season chasing a large herd bull and just when everything finally went right (within 50yds of the bull but terrain was too thick to make a move and wind was right only to wait it out and let things happen until I could gain better position) another hunter ended up spooking the herd from the up wind side (he came out of no where just as I was drawing my bow on this monster bull - I would guess he was a high 340 bull). Since this was the second to last day of the season I ended up taking a spike, but what a season of action. I called in over 9 bulls last year all using techniques from the dvd's that I purchased back in 2008.
Thanks again for such a great product and I hope to one day venture out on a hunt with you and the Elknut crew.
I just finished my first read of the playbook and I think my head is going to explode from info over load. The amount of info in the few pages in this book is amazing!!!! GREAT JOB PAUL!!!!
